Playing With My Hair Colour

I've been dying my hair for years, firstly just for fun then later to cover the silver strands that for some odd reason keep appearing!

When my roots needed doing I’d always plonk the dye on, all over, as it seems way too much bother to fiddle about just doing the roots.

This however leads to a serious amount of colour build up, so I’ve been looking for a product to help “strip” this dense colour.

I was wanting to avoid the over-priced hairdressers if possible and after a little Googling I found Colour B4.

Photobucket

This claims to strip the dye out leaving the hair the original colour, hmmmm..

Considering the years I’ve been using dye I doubted very much it could do that.. unless it left me 100% natural grey!!

Anyway, after reading the long instructions and following them to the letter it has changed my colour quite drastically..and I think it’s done it rather well.

It’s not patchy at all apart from being a little more silvery on top.

So here are the before and after photos..

Before and After

Not sure which I like the best really, I did quite like my darker hair but was concerned it was too dark particularly at the ends.

I’m probably going to get a lightish brown dye to cover the silvers tomorrow and get a good trim, but for now.. it’s not too bad really..

Oh Yes! It's A Holiday Weekend!

I keep forgetting this is a Bank Holiday weekend.. And then of course I remember and it's a lovely feeling..

The weather is much as usual for a holiday, grey and overcast with the likelihood of rain!

I found it difficult to put this book down.

It was sad but compelling and I wish I had such good friends like Anna, Karen and Lou!

Most UnInteresting

On Flickr I have set up some automatic sets, one is for the most interesting photos and one is for the least interesting..

The photos here are from the latter, and I wonder what makes them so un-interesting?

Caister Castle

Amazingly, considering I have a great fear of heights, I managed to climb to the very top of this tower!

The staircase, which is inside, starts off with steep stone (original) steps which soon give way to a newer wooden spiral staircase which has those awful gaps between them!!

The view was fantastic, but I was so shaky I didn't stay there too long, I was worried about making my way back down.

Was a great sense of achievement though once I was back down on terra firma!

The Boring Holiday Photos!

I was going to do a lovely presentation of the best photos of the holiday - but to be honest I feel way too lazy, there are too many and not a lot stand out as particularly impressive to me.

So, I have embedded a slideshow of them all, which I’m sure is not the best thing to do, but never mind..

Places visited include, Great Yarmouth, Casiter-On-Sea, Caister Castle, Gorleston, Burgh Castle Cromer, Lowestoft in Suffolk, The Broads, Norwich, various pretty villages…

Just in case you’re wondering the holiday wasn’t boring, just some may think the photos are!

I'm Back!

Poppy, originally uploaded by LadyBanana.

I had a lovely time despite the weather not being as bright as it could be!

I took a *lot* of photos of course and am in the process of sorting them out.

I promise to bore you with a selection in due course! (lol)

Time To Try Blogsy

Yesterday I bought a new app for blogging from the iPad.

It's called Blogsy.

I was so looking forward to doing a quick post and publishing it but with Blogger down it wasn't to be, but it gave me the opportunity to watch all the "How To" videos!

So far so good, looks a very clever little app!

The Nearly Bought Shoes

I can't wear high heels nowadays but what about these!?

I found them in M&S and they look gorgeous on.

They are quite high but the platform balances it out so they feel easy to walk in..

So why didn't I buy them?

They squeezed my toes, only on the right foot though..

Quite disappointing really as they are rather lovely!

This Might Make You Cry

I wish I had discovered this blog before the Last Post

It is an intelligent, touching and down to earth account of Derek K. Millers battle with cancer.

It made me cry...

Bits & Sneezies

Not a lot to blog about today, well nothing that I can reveal here anyway, hehe...

Being back at work takes over my poor brain - back in the eat, sleep, work routine..

Can cats get hay fever? My little Mabel has had quite an attack of the sneezies this evening..

Time for a little read before sleep I think...

Wanted: An Anti-Bounce Bra

Photobucket

I have no idea why women want big boobs, they do not make for an easy life when buying clothes or taking part in any type of sports.

I had decided I wanted to increase my exercise levels by doing a bit of running so I set off today to buy a good supportive sports bra and some running shoes.

Firstly I went to Bravissimo. I spent a long time there with one of the fitters trying to establish the correct size. Once that was done she told me they only had one style of sports bra in stock, so I tried it on.. did the bounce test and I bounced, badly!

So off to John Lewis where I tried on THIS. It looks big and sturdy, a proper bit of boob scaffolding – I did the bounce test and again I bounced, maybe not as much as the last one but too much to be comfortable.

Lastly I went to Marks & Spencer.. I didn’t hold out much hope and I was right, I tried on their ‘strongest’  looking bra but it sadly failed the bounce test, in fact it was the worst of all.

So I didn’t even bother looking at running shoes, I was rather disappointed..
