Today.. I Watched A Wedding!

AV With CATS!!

Following my previous post regarding the AV voting system I came across another video on the same topic.

I am in no way a great follower of things political but I had to post this one as well because it involves CATS!!!!

 

 

Understanding The AV Voting System

The 5th of May is a chance to vote in elections in your area and in the referendum on the voting system used to elect MPs. Commonly known as AV – Alternative Vote system.

It can be a little difficult to fully understand it but I came across this video which explains it very simply and effectively.

 

An East End Trilogy

Today I finished reading the final book in this fascinating trilogy, I would thoroughly recommend them..

I loved these books, didn't want them to finish.

I was enthralled by the stories told, a really fascinating insight into what life was like back then in the East End.

Back On The Bike

The last 2 days I have been very good. I’ve got back on my bike!

 

Both days I have cycled to Regents Park and enjoyed the weather.  Luckily this park is not that far from where I live but it does involve getting up quite a steep hill to get there!

I absolutely love cycling and wish I could do it more often but London traffic is normally too busy to do it regularly.. (or is that an excuse? lol)

I feel great for having done this, well most of me feels great – my bum is extremely tender even though I have a padded saddle cover.

Time Off At Last!

At last it’s the Easter break.. it’s been a long time coming but I am so relieved to have 4 days off, and thanks to the Royal Wedding only have a 3 day week next week!

The weather here in London is amazing with a top temperature today of 26c – usually unheard of for a holiday weekend!

So I intend to do… well, whatever takes my fancy all weekend long!

Embarrassment On The Bus

I didn't feel like walking to work today so I took the bus.

Didn't have to wait long which was nice and I got a seat.

I sat down and began to send a text.

The bus didn't start moving but I wasn't really aware of why not, sometimes the drivers wait a few minutes if they are running early, but I was in plenty of time so quite relaxed.

I continued typing my text when I heard somewhere in the background the driver yelling at someone, saying they needed a valid ticket to travel on the bus.

I then looked up to notice all the passengers were looking at ME!

Someone muttered that I needed to pay my fare..

Then I had the horrific realisation that I had boarded the bus and sat straight down having forgotten to beep my Oyster Card

I was so embarrassed, I leapt up, beeped my card and apologised for having held up the bus.

A few passengers laughed, some looked a little peeved and one asked me if I had actually woken up yet!

Ashridge Estate

Today we visited the Ashridge Estate.

If you look at the National Trust website you can see there are several different areas to explore. We walked through the woods, it was beautiful, but exhausting, so we will definitely be returning to see other areas!

That Was Another Weary Week

This week (like many others) has been difficult to get through as I have felt tired and weary every day. My legs, lower back and hips have felt stiff and sore.

I've slept well most nights so I don't understand why.

A couple of weeks ago I woke feeling amazing one morning, walking to work was no problem and the day was a breeze so I know it is possible to feel good. It just doesn't happen very often which is a bit crap.

I don't think I'm ill or low in anything as it's not long since I had blood tests.

Maybe it's my age, the start of being old!!

Anyway, happy it's the weekend.

What I really feel like doing is staying in bed for 2 days but then I'd hate myself for wasting the days off!

Banning The Burqa

Is France right to ban the burqa?

Personally it doesn't bother me if women choose to wear it as long as I don't have to speak to them. In my work I have tried to have conversation with them and it's not easy, facial expression helps in communication and without it it's difficult!

Also they should not be allowed to enter banks, as people wearing crash helmets have to remove them for security reasons.

Also shops, they should not be allowed in shops as I have experienced being asked to remove my hood.
One day last December, it was snowing hard and freezing cold, as I entered a shop I was pounced upon by a security guard and asked to remove my hood. I should have asked him what does he do when a veiled woman enters the store!

So as long as they don't enter public buildings then let them wear them!

Some of the views only show posts with images and some seem to think my images that are hosted on Photobucket are no longer there, but rest assured, they are there!

I guess it’s early days and Blogger will be tweaking these views.

Bournemouth

On Tuesday myself and one of my girls took a daytrip to Bournemouth, just for the fun of it.

To get a decent train fare we had to book in advance and with this English weather it's a bit of a risk.

We were not lucky.. it was very windy, cold and drizzly.

It wasn't possible to stay near the beach for long so we spent a lot of time in shops, a pub and various cafes.

I still managed to take a few photos though!

Run Out Of "Care"

If it wasn't Friday I'd be close to handing in my notice at work.

It's been yet another rubbish week in so many different ways.

I am in a caring profession but at the moment, I NO LONGER GIVE A SHIT!

It's very tiresome to pretend you care and that you're interested day after day with a vast number of people. People who are for example, rude, demanding, stinky, and just plain difficult.

Right now, digging a hole in the ground, hiding for a few weeks and not talking to anyone sounds the best option..

But when did I ever get the best!

Hope this weekend enables me to heal somewhat..
