A TV ad for a very popular department store has been reducing people to tears.
It shows the life cycle of a woman from birth to old-age and makes us think just how short our lives really are!

The country park we visited yesterday was vast with many interesting and beautiful things to see, such as my first ever snake!
Pity I didn't manage to get a photo, it slithered away far to quickly!
One particularly beautiful area we came across was the Moat..
The Moat ran all around a small island which once was home to someone many many years ago.
When we crossed a little bridge onto the island we found these items in the hollow of a tree, a book, cloth, candles and incense sticks.
We also noticed these odd *things* hanging from some of the trees.
Made us wonder, was there some kind of witchcraft going on here? I was kind of glad it was a bright sunny day or I may have been a little spooked!
I was woken up at 5am this morning by Mabel scratching about in the bedroom.
I took her upstairs to let her out to play and almost stepped in not one but two piles of cat puke!
Not a good start as I was hoping to quickly slide back into bed and get more sleep, but alas I had a rather unpleasant job to do first which woke me up more than I wished for.
I did go back to bed eventually and dozed on and off till about 8am.
I then had breakfast, pottered around the flat and waited for Rob to get up.
A little later we went for a drive!
It was a beautifully sunny day even though a tad too chilly for me.
It was good driving here and there with the guidance of the sat nav – till it stopped working for us that is!
Seems it wouldn’t charge for some reason in the car, so it just ran out of power.
We are not sure if it’s the cable or the charging socket in the car that is faulty (It charges OK in the house) have to wait till my daughter gets back and we will test with hers.
So for a little while we were a teeny bit lost. You can’t really get lost in London, just a bit on the wrong track, so it didn’t take too long to find our way back.
I realise though, the only way I will really feel the freedom of driving and having a car is to learn myself – not much chance of that, I think I’m way too jumpy to ever drive :(
Maybe I'll just have to get one of these!
I'm just a little bit excited as tomorrow we go to pick up our car!
OK, so I can't drive it, that's all down to my partner but it will still be fun to have a bit of freedom and mobility.
We've not had a car before, I used to have one (well my ex did) in a previous life but that was a long time ago.
So watch out for us whizzing around the country!
I know the world, the country etc has financial problems.
I know businesses have had it tough for a long while now.
I know that this year a lot of workers are getting very small (if any at all) pay increases.
But I don’t work in a business that’s in decline, oh no!
I work in a place where it literally get’s more and more manically busy every single week to the point of almost breaking point.
I work in a GP surgery in the NHS as a Healthcare Assistant, (some might call Nursing Assistant.)
We were informed of our pay rise today.
A very measly 1%
We have worked our bums off to help reach QOF targets.
Taken on more skilled tasks to enable the Nurses to do more of the Doctors work, to enable the Doctors more time to deal with the ever increasing demanding patient population.
And that’s how we are rewarded.
One of my daughters works in retail and earns more than me – now does that make sense?
I am tempted to go work in a shop, a lot less responsibility and just about the same financial reward!
A few days ago I filled in one of those forms online which automatically gets sent to your local MP’s regarding some kind of issue which is irrelevant to this post.
What I think is funny is the responses I have had, or should I say lack of!
Labour – Out of Office
LibDems – Nothing!
Conservative – Very quick and informative response.
What does this say about our 3 main “competitors”? lol
Yesterday was such a beautiful day, warm and sunny and a reminder that we can actually have something other than grey skies and rain!
I went shopping, returning a couple of items and coming home with more. Well it was too tempting seeing all those lovely summery clothes on such a summery day.
At home I got Rob to get my boxes of summer clothes down ready for me to sort out, to check which ones have “shrunk” the most since last year.
Then this morning I wake up and it’s all back to normal, grey and somewhat chilly.
Maybe yesterday was just a dream..
Yesterday was a very very big day for me.
My son, my eldest child (no longer a child but a big man of course) got married.
I’ve not blogged about it before as for reasons I can’t go into, he didn’t want it made public.
So even now I’m not making a big song and dance out of it – but believe me, to me it was BIG, even though it was a small, very close family affair.
I now have a daughter in law, and she is truly lovely.
As a Mum, I’m sure many can relate to this, we always worry about the partners/husbands/wives our children will choose, but I need not to have worried.
I first met her last October.
I have now met her Mum and sister and I am so happy, they are a lovely family!
So now, I am a mother in law – lets hope I don’t become an irritating interfering one!
A little entertainment for Easter – now this is better than anything on TV!
These girls are AMAZING.. watch it all, tis well worth it.
Watch full screen if possible.
I can go for ages without listening to much music, it’s like I kinda go off it, just want to live in peace.
But then I come back to it thankfully as it usually makes me feel so much better if feeling a bit moody as is so often the case recently.
I wasn’t interested in watching TV tonight so have been listening to some good tunes via Spotify and Scrobbling them to LastFM
I love the way LastFM makes lots of statistical lists of what we listen to. This is my most listened to in the last 3 months:
