| You Are 40% Witch |
![]() You may still be interested in witchcraft, but you're by no means a stereotypical witch. While you don't seem all that witchy, people may think you're a bit weird. You're definitely a little offbeat. No one really knows what to make of you sometimes. |

Come On Winter!
When will this unseasonably warm weather go away?
Don’t get me wrong, I love warm weather, but not now!
I am ready for winter, got a new coat and a lovely scarf and just want to wrap up nice and cosy these dark evenings.
I look forward to the cold crisp mornings, the frost on the leaves and the spider webs.
I’m sure this current weather is a good breeding ground for all the winter bugs as this has been a record week at work! If we were paid per patient per visit I think we’d all be extremely happy.
The weather forecast for the weekend is the same temperature but just wet..not good enough.
It’s got to get cold by Guy Fawkes night, can’t be watching the fireworks in t-shirts!

End Of The Poll
Thought it was time to remove the poll about the swine flu jab.
I had 43 votes and as you can see 70% say they will not have this vaccination.
I had 1 comment which I believe probably says it for a lot of us -
“I shall not have the swine flu jab because it has not been totally proven to be safe and also I do believe that in order to strengthen ourselves that a dose of the flue actually strengthens our individual auto immune system.”
I myself really do not want it but if I’m honest I’m not 100% decided yet.
Still it won’t be long now till many of us here in the UK have to decide once and for all!

Mellow Yellow Monday - Fruity
Been a while (again) since I took part in MYM but when I spotted this lovely display of fruit I knew I just had to!

Long Awaited Good News
This week has shot by faster than ever. I’m happy it’s Friday but what on earth happened to the previous 4 days? It’s frightening.
It was a busy week with some ups and downs.
One of the ups was news from my son regarding his girlfriend.
He met her when he worked in Dubai and he wanted her to come to UK with him (she is South African) but she was not granted a visa for various reasons.
He had to come home here and she had to return to her home in SA.
After many months of gathering information and a change in circumstances they submitted yet another application, which after only a matter of days they found out it was successful.
They are both over the moon and now I’m looking forward to meeting my future daughter-in-law!
Getting Ready For Action
We had a very big box of leaflets delivered today in preparation for the upcoming vaccination clinics.
The actual vaccine is expected anytime from Monday 26th.
Then the mayhem will begin – it has not yet been fully decided how and when this clinic will take place, but no doubt it is going to be out of usual clinic hours – and, no doubt rather hectic!

Powercut
Shhh don’t tell anyone but I had a great day at work today because guess what, I didn’t do any!
Well that’s not quite true, I worked for about an hour then we had a major power cut, including phone lines, so it was impossible to do anything, not even have a cuppa tea!
There were a lot of patients in the building when it happened so as soon as we realised it wasn’t going to be a 10 minute cut they all had to leave and we had to close the doors.
Obviously this wasn’t easy as people kept turning up for appointments to find a notice on a locked door, but there was no choice. We cannot work without computers and there is little natural light in the building, my room has none.
We sat about waiting for information for several hours until it was confirmed it was going to be an all day problem.
At that stage I was able to come home but others had to stay behind to sort out the removal of 100’s of refrigerated vaccines to another fridge in another building.
I dread to think what tomorrow will be like when patients start complaining, but oh well it won’t be my problem as I don’t go in till 1pm!

Anyone Know What Kind Of Spider Is This?
I know it’s a bit scary to look at (if you click it then it will come up even bigger and scarier) but if you know anything about spiders can you let me know is it a normal British type?
I saw it as I was walking through the car park of a local supermarket, it was pretty big and to me, very unusual. I wondered had it jumped out of a box of bananas or something!
Looks like it has a pumpkin on it’s back, quite apt really as it’s nearly Halloween!

Will You Have The Swine Flu Jab?
With the Swine Flu Vaccination about to appear in a GP surgery near you, will you have it?
It will firstly be offered to high risk groups and health workers, but decisions need to be made for all of us and our children!
Please use the poll on the right sidebar..
Thanks!

Would You Let Your 3 Year Old Smoke?
I’m sure I won’t get a single reader who answers yes to this question.
But Graeme Conroy from Northumberland did just that and has now been sent to jail for it, sadly for only 18 months though.
Almost everyday we are hearing horrible horrible stories of cruelty and abuse to children, things that some years ago we would never have imagined could exist.
Then just as we hear the worst, we hear something even worse.
What is the world coming to…
Anyway, to read the full story of the sickwit who gave the little girl a cigarette click here

Booster Time At The Vet
Took Mabel to the vets this morning for her yearly vaccination booster.
The most difficult part of this was getting her into the carrier – amazing how she remembered that going in the carrier means something a bit unpleasant ahead.
However once in the vets, apart from being nervous she was very good, and didn’t even flinch when the needle went in.
She had a full examination and the vet said she appears to be in very good health despite her still being a frequently sicky cat.
I was amazed at the ease the vet got her to swallow whole a worming tablet! I guess it’s just many years of practice.
Just hope we don’t have to go back for another year now.

Amazing Pole Dancing
Pole dancing usually summons up visions of seedy clubs full of lonely men wishing they could get hold of the somewhat tarty young women.
But look at this young lady perform in the Moscow Pole Dancing Championships!
She has strength, agility, grace and is to me, quite amazing.
I watched her quite entranced, until the end, which was a little disappointing for her I’m sure!
Thanks @PhilHawley

Jumping Germs?
When I arrived at work this morning my nose was running, (nothing unusual there lol) so I naturally grabbed and tissue did what I had to do then tossed it in the nearest bin.
The girl sitting nearest to the bin objected to me doing this and asked me to remove the tissue and take it elsewhere.
I presumed she was joking so I left the room and went to put my lunch in the fridge in the kitchen.
However, she wasn’t joking, she followed after me, with my tissue in her hand, wrapped in another tissue.
She then placed it in another bin and went off to wash her hands!
I was speechless!!
I have patients all the time who cough, sneeze and blow their noses, depositing tissues in the bin next to me and I’ve yet to notice any germs “jumping” out at me!
What do you think, odd or not?

Christmas Is Cancelled
Found out a few days ago that Christmas is cancelled.
Well, it is where I work anyway.
I have worked there since the turn of the century and every Christmas we have had some kind of works “do” paid for by the bosses as I would believe most work establishments do.
But this year it is to be no more, it has been sneakily messaged around the building (not even a formal notice or email) that the bosses cannot not afford it this year!
I find that very hard to believe as we are not the kind of business that is in any way affected by the recession.
I don’t care all that much either, but it does feel a bit odd, like us hard working, reliable staff are just going to be left out in the cold this year. I know we get paid for what we do but it was nice, just once a year, to feel a little bit of gratitude and have a laugh!

My Boobies Are On Boobie-Thon!
October being Breast Cancer Awareness month there are lots of things going on to help not only raise cash for research into this devastating disease but also to simply raise awareness of our beloved boobies!
One of these things is the opportunity to add a pic of your boobies to the Boobie-Thon site in the hope that it will encourage more people to make a donation.
So I did… post my boobies to the site!
They are there, I have checked, but I’m not going to divulge which ones are mine, it’s all completely anonymous thankfully!
Take a look, make a donation HERE

Google Sidewiki
Not sure how much I'd actually use it but who knows in a few months it might become part of my daily life!
I'm not even going to try to explain what it is and does, I think it would be nicer to read it yourself on the Sidewiki Page
in reference to: Google Sidewiki (view on Google Sidewiki)
