Genitals And Who’s The Father?
When I was very young I used to skim over my mothers “Womens” magazines.
They didn’t mean much to me, it was nice just to look at the pictures as the stories looked rather boring.
However 2 things I did read which made absolutely no sense at all to me and left me mystified to this day (well not quite to this day..lol) was the story entitled:
“ Pregnant, but I don’t know who the father is!”
That left me quite bemused as it was obvious to me that if you were going to have a baby then the father of the baby would be your husband!
The other, was not a story title but a line or so in an article which I don’t really remember too well apart from the phrase:
“It is important to wash your genitals daily”
GENITALS!! Wash daily!? Now what the heck were genitals and how would I wash them daily? Did I have any genitals? Was I normal? No one had ever told me before to do this! It was rather worrying but I daren’t ask my Mother as she might be cross I had read her magazine.
So it was one of those big scary mysteries, funny now but not so much at the time!

Yes, I too had many questions as a child that were never really answered until something else was said many years later and I managed to work it out for myself. :-)
I could never work out what the Communal Garden Variety was or what a woman had if she didn't have a penis. (The later was answered well before the former...)
I'm sure my comment was witty and perceptive :)
I dread to think what my lil man must be thinking when he thumbs through my magazines lol
Kids are so funny - those messages they get and how their understanding evolves. I'm sure you learned all about how you know who the father is - and if you have genitals or not! LOL!
This was funny and thought provoking wondering what else kids wondered about.

I'm assuming you know by now? :P
Genitals! Te, he.
Childhood years is a stage where most of us get curios. As we grow older, the stories in magazines become real..stories we ignore during our tender years.
We have this concept that when a woman is pregnant, the father should be the husband. Perhaps you live in a healthy environment with no teenage mommies in town.
