Side Effects

The last few weeks I have been suffering with bad lower back pain, radiating down into my thighs.

Back in June I went to see my GP and have been having physiotherapy at a local hospital.

It's not the first time I have suffered with my back, it has been an on/off thing for years now, but this time it's being horribly persistent.

I have resisted taking painkillers any more than paracetamol until now. Yesterday evening I went back to my GP and got something else and now I feel rather yucky, they seem to be giving me a rather windy bloated feeling tummy.

It's not fair, you try to relieve one thing and get another.. I'm falling apart..

Yikes. Proper medical looking packaging. I prefer to have tablets in boxes with lots of pictures, which implies it is a less serious level of dosage.

Take care and be well. :-)

Yep diclofenic are well know for upsetting your tummy, be careful as they can also cause stomach ulcers too.

My mums been on them for years and although she has lots of yukky side effects she still preferes to take them rather than anything else as they are the only thng that help her back.

One reason why I won't take medication unless I really have to. It may help what you're taking it for, but replace that with some other ailment :O(

Hope you're better soon.

Isn't it frustrating when the solution creates another problem!!! Sometimes you wonder if the side effects are even worth it. Feel better soon :-)

On a lighter note. Yes, Mitzi brought a large moth in the other day and ate it! I ran away quick :O(

Hi L.B.

I'm sorry to hear that you're not feeling well. I honestly know what it must feel like for you to have to deal with it.

Before I quit bowling, I used to have occasional psiatic nerve attacks which would radiate from my buttocks to my lower back. I would think it was caused by the constant load imbalance my body had to endure while doing that activity, which is why I stopped. This was even with proper warm-up excercises.

I have a small collection of chiropractic videos I have saved as favorites over at youtube. Have you ever considered going to see a chiropractor?

I hope you feel well soon.

Sincerely,
Henry.

I've had backache now for over a year since I had to use crutches for just over a month. I've heard there is no cure and my doc refuses to refer me to the clinic for physio. I recently walked into this Chinese place with time on my hands and found it was hell to wrench myself away from them without having booked myself in for something I didn't quite understand and they were unwilling to explain properly, they couldn't even speak much English! In the end I paid them a tenner for Xin Huang Pian (common painkillers) it does work, for the day.

I feel for you...my heel's been killing me and can't seem to fix it. We don't have that paracetemol in the U.S. Ingredients say it's same as Tylenol, but I took it when I was dreadfully ill during a trip to Wales, and it knocked me on my ass. So there's some juicy ingredient in there we don't get here. Probably that's a good thing. Feel better. And thanks for the blogroll add and the comments!

Hi, Lady Banana,
Thanks for visiting my blog and complimenting my photos - now that I know you are a photog that means even more.
I haven't been on the circuit in so long but it seems to me that you have a new template and I really like it - so bright and inviting.
Sorry about your back pain. Perhaps you know that I suffered from a year of chronic pain in 2005Two things made a world of difference for me and actually brought me out of pain into a completely healed place: 1)Miracle Balls or as they are named now - the Elaine Petrone method and 2)the book Pain Free by Pete Egoscue. I started with the miracle balls and got immediate pain relief, then after three weeks, using them daily, I moved to the Pain Free exercises and did them faithfully for about four weeks.
The results for me were nothing short of a miracle - and others who I have introduced to these methods have also had miraculous results.
I hope this input is helpful. The miracle balls are very inexpensive and Pete's book is cheap on Amazon.
I will be thinking and praying for you as I know firsthand just how debilitating and discouraging chronic pain can be.
Much love,
Jlo
