Twist, Lick and Dunk!

I've noticed Oreos on the shelves at my local supermarket for a long time now, and have occasionally eaten them as well.

Recently they are everywhere, even being advertised on the sides of the the good old red London buses. Not really thought much of it till I came across this news article on the BBC saying that they are an American favourite and are attempting to now become a British fave as well..

So I was wondering, my American friends, are you Oreo lovers? are they the best thing ever to you and your families? Do you really twist, lick and dunk?

I'm from Canada and my kids LOVE Oreos! They open them and lick the icing out then eat the cookie part.

I'm not American but I think they're horrible! I've had them in the US and my memory is that they're hard, not very sweet and not very chocolatey! Give me a bourbon any day.

I love, love, love Oreos! I've eaten them since I was a kid.. and that was a long time ago! lol

I love Oreos! They're like an All-American kids institution or something here. I grew up taking a snack baggie of them to school as a kid. I like double-stuff kind. They have double the stuff in the middle. MmmM! Only way to eat them is with a glass of milk :)

Oh yes, Oreos...Double Stiuff please!

You know they're good if you're worried about whether they'll make your ass look fat in those new jeans you just bought while you're eating them!

A chocolaty treat or the skinny jeans...whew! What's a Politi-Girl to do?

Oreos are yummy!

But I don't pull 'em apart and eat the insides first. I crunch my way through 'em.

I'm in the US and love love love Oreos. On occasion, I lick the icing out first, but mostly, I dunk the whole cookie into a cold glass of milk, then bite by bite, enjoy the mushy goodness.

I just ate a FULL PACKAGE of Oreos within the last 2 days. They are so addicting. I twist them and eat the plain side first then quickly without breathing inhale the other side with the creamy middle. YUMMY. Don't get me started. lol

I'm not an American but Oreos is a favourite in Malaysia for ages too. When I first came to Belgium, I could not find them but last year I finally found them. They even have the mini-bite size ones :)

I don't do the "twist-lick-dunk" but I drop a few of the mini versions into my glass of milk at night and scoop them up before they get soggy :D mmmmmmm Delicious!

I don't like them. But, I'm Canadian. They have a lot of ads for them here too. Also seems they are for sale at every grocery store, with an ad on the front page of a lot of the flyers this week.

Sorry Im not American, I am from the Uk too, and have also noticed them becomming bigger over here.

I have tried them and they wont be becomming a bit hit in this house, we all think they are discusting.

We cannot have them in the house because once my Mommie starts eating them, she can't stop. And they make your teeth look black, too.

There are chocolate covered Oreos and those are sinful. My kids love any kind of Oreo. Me? I like to twist them apart and scrape the cream off with a butter knife and just eat the cookie part. Sacrilege to some people, Oreos are somewhat of an American institution.

Oh - and I don't like milk enough to dip anything yummy like a cookie in it!

I'm an American. Home of Pres. George War Bush. I like Oreos, but they are not my favorite. I'd rather have chocolate chip cookies with lots of chocolate chips. When I do eat Oreos I usually don't twist them apart. I prefer to dunk them in hot water, or tea. They taste ever better that way.

When I was a kid they use to just have regular Oreos, now they have double filled, chocolate filled, mint filled. I think they even have a diet kind. Oh brother! Just give me regular Oreos please. Well, that's my Oreo saga.

What do the British favor? What is your favorite?

Over here I think we only have the original variety - so far.

To be honest they wouldn't be my number 1 choice of biccy, but there's something about them!

OMG yeah! I LOVE Oreos. And yes I do twist lick and dunk. But mostly I just dunk. The only way to enjoy them is with milk.

I like them - tend to break them apart, eat the filling, then the cracker. I'm sure there are better ones, but none come to mind. Now, TimTams - THAT is a superior cookie.

Not my favourites; I think I prefer chocolate bourbon biscuits. Or hobnobs.

OMG, Oreos are my favorite cookies! They also make a vanilla version that I love to dip in my morning coffee. I don't twist and lick 'em, though. I just like to dunk them in milk. There is always a bad of Oreos in our home!

Tina said...

They are strange. not as good as normal centred biscuit ones. but i always bite off the lid, eat that first, then eat the other other with the cream on with all my biccies!!

Imma Twister, licker, but not a dunker. It is all in the filling. Something addictive about the combination of the filling and the cookie.
.....and we can spot the fake ones (HYDROX IS FAKE!!) Nabisco all the way

I get my Oreos from Costco, so I've had them for a while. Ignore the daft instructions, dip 'em in a cup of tea and the intense cocoa flavour is quite nice, though they're a bit sickly after a while.

mmm... Oreos....
I love to dunk them in a big glass of cold milk. *yummy*
