Loving The Long Weekend

I love these Bank Holiday weekends, get to Sunday and have another day off to look forward to!

Today was spent doing lots of cleaning, there often just isn't the time or energy in the week so it tends to get very messy.

I then spent some time dropping Entrecards, I know, what a waste of time but there is something pleasantly addictive about it.

I went out on my bicycle, only for about 10 minutes, around the block. Just to prove to myself I can still ride it, it's been a long time since I got on it. Even that short ride made my thighs start to feel tired so I know I have a lot of work to do to get back up to speed and to face the dreadful London roads!

I then planted some herb seeds.. I have no idea if they will grow well at all but I like the idea of being able to pop out to my balcony and pick some fresh herbs. I'm particularly fond of coriander in just about anything, not just curries.

Then, later of course I was back online - doing what I enjoy, reading the blogs..

Ah, yes... one day I really SHOULD get my old bike down from the garage rafters.

And give my neighbors something to laugh at.

Lovely to get the extra day. Sadly, I was self employed, which meant I worked six or seven days a week, all year round. I am now retired and it's great!

Yup, my street bike needs a run around hopefully tomorrow. Great plans today didn't quite work out when I realised the front tyre was very squishy. But now I've found the pump.

You had a productive day! I should to get a bike. I haven't had one since I lived in California and traded it for concert tickets :)

And an herb garden...I'd like to do that too.

You've got some good ideas!

Why was it a long weekend? A national holiday or just a government thing?

sounds like you had quite a productive day then!

Sometimes it narks me to keep dropping dropping all time, but then i see it pays for itself in end :)

30 odd miles today! Here's a link to my journey.. I need a new saddle! Us gents are sorely afflicted by some seats over long distances. I would go on but am too gentlemanly to develop the thread further!
Ouch!

Not only would my thighs hurt, I think my butt would hurt from just trying to got on it. ha ha, it has been at least 18 years since I rode a bicycle. sad isn't it.

We should have more holidays in the US.

I bought a bicycle a few years ago, but never use it now. It wobbled when I used it. A friend said it was the wrong make for me. But I think it has to do with my big butt. lol. It's in storage. I guess I should sell it.
