Shopping Makes Me Feel So "Wrong"

PhotobucketWent to Oxford Street after work to have a look around a couple of shops, particularly Marks & Spencer as I still have vouchers to spend from Christmas.

I tried on a few things, and actually bought a few tops and a skirt, luckily they have a 90 day returns policy so I still might change my mind.

I hate buying clothes as I always feel I look so "wrong" and ugly in the dreadful lighting they have in the fitting rooms. My boobs, bum and belly are too big, and out of proportion, my legs are too short and my skin.. well it looks gross.

Why oh why do they not have more flattering lighting I do not know. When I look in the mirror in the toilet at work I look surprisingly great, so it is possible to create an illusion and you'd think a shop trying to convince women to buy clothes would want to make it as beautiful an experience as possible!

After shopping I met my partner and we ate in Garfunkels, which was nice, no washing up!

But all that after a full day's work is just about my limit, I am sooo knackered it's ridiculous..

Anyway, just going to try on my new clothes again before I go to sleep..

I have been driving around Oklahoma like a crazy woman today. I've got several more stops in order to prepare for my daughters slumber party. All that plus work and I completely empathize with you today!

I'm sure they look great, but I know what you're saying, I hate clothes shopping.

Do people actually routinely call it Marks and Sparks, or is that something peddled to the tourists?

Horrible dressing room lighting: The number 1 reason why I shop online. I just can't keep putting myself through that. Gawd.

Horrible dressing room lighting - so true! I was in Zara the other day. I looked like I had been bleached and the glaring overhead lighting highlighted every lump and bump (of which there are far too many....)

And another thing. Why does sizing vary so much? I buy 10 in M&S (yes we do call it Marks & Sparks on occasion!) 14 in Zara, 12 in Monsoon, 8 in Gap jeans (or 4 as they call it)- utter madness!

Or M&S or just Marks's

I'm not a huge shopper ... I have to be in the mood for it.

I refuse to try things on in the store. Forget it...as you said they make you look 10 lbs heavier.....

Or maybe we are 10lbs heavier?
