My Penpal, Judy Ludermann
When I was growing up I loved to write letters to people, to anyone, so my Dad set me up, through an advert in a paper he used to read, with a penpal, her name was Judy Ludermann.
I was about 12 or 13 and she was probably about 15 or 16, it's difficult to remember. Mostly all I remember is her name, and that she lived somewhere in Chicago US. We wrote to each other for a little while but ran out of things to say.
She was a great fan of David Cassidy, which at the tender age of 12 I didn't quite understand - I was very innocent and quite sheltered at the time.
She sent me a photo which I kept for years, not of herself but of deep deep snow outside her house. We never had snow like that so I was very impressed.
I wonder what happened to her, I wonder if she has any memory of me...

I remember having a pen pal when I was about 12 also. I can't remember her name now. I suck!
I'd forgotten all about my pen pal until I read this. Mine was a boy in Hong Kong and I can't even remember his name so you're doing a lot better than me. C
We used to have a pen pal club at school, but that was a sort of faze thing lol!
im sure she does remember you. people remember the oddest things from their past :) I know i do anyway!!
I don't think there are pen pals anymore with the advent of E-mail!
I feel that all the people who comment on my blog and all those who have blogs that I comment on are the current day equivalent of my pen pals.
Wow, imagine trying to keep that number of pen pals supplied with news in the days of pen and ink :-)
It would be a full time job!
I had a penpal too (I live in the States, he lives in England) and about 8 years after we started writing to each other, we met! And now I have a place to stay every time I visit London :-)
I just checked Facebook and there's no Judy Ludermann listed.
I used to have hundreds of penpals when I was younger. Then life got busy ...
At 12 - living in the Chicago-ish area - I was a HUGE David Cassidy fan.
But it wasn't me. Sorry.
