Dead Phone And SLOW Internet
Came home this evening to find my landline is as dead as a dodo, and even worse my internet is grindingly S-L-O-W.
It's taking ages to do anything so I'm not going to be able to do a lot.
I have reported the line problem to British Telecom through their website. I got a message saying they will attend to it on 2nd May and may need access to the house. MAY need access is not good enough, I have to go to work and cannot take a day off on the off chance they MAY need to come in... They need to give me a time and date and stick to it.
Anyway, have to see what happens on the 2nd..
If you don't see me around as much you'll know why, using the net right now is like the bad old days of dial up!

It's so frustrating when the internet is slow. drives me crazy it does.
fingers crossed on the 2nd for you :0
Oh no! BT are DREADFUL! If you ever have to phone them up you will lose the will to live before you are done repeating yourself over and over and being transferred and repeating yourself over and over again and being transferred and....oh no I have broken out in a rash just thinking about it.
Poor you, you have all my sympathy :-(
I stayed at a hotel last night with slow Internet. I ended up having to call their provider who pinged me (which didn't hurt a bit!).
Same thing happened this morning.
It's great right now.
I'm looking forward to getting home tonight, though.
BT?
Why?
Gosh, our internet provider is always fast and efficient.
And they bring fresh pastries to the house every morning, too.
Ah, I'm currently living in the bad old days of dial up, WITH a computer from 2000. I call her my old lady. She's a good old gal. Somehow she gets me through.
Dial up is much cheaper here, and I want to save some money. That's why I switched back. I go to the library on occasion to use the faster computer there. But please don't tell the old lady that I cheat on her. ;o)
Oh Yikes! Here's hoping you are back up to speed soon... we sure get spoiled fast, eh? I can't even remember using dialup...
Fingers crossed here for you.
I love high speed, I could never go back to dial up. I hope they get it fixed fast for you.
Jeremy - It's a BT line because I have no choice, my internet isn't with them though, but I think the dysfunctional phone line is having some kind of effect on it..
