Can't Remember My Yahoo/Flickr Password :(
I'm feeling really angry with myself this evening as I've forgotten my Yahoo/Flickr password.
I'm (luckily) still logged in to Flickr as the browser remembers me, but I was wanting to sign up to something new and I need the password.
I was sent to the retrieve password site where you simply type in your date of birth and postal code... hmm simply.. NOT!
It didn't work and I think I know why, when I signed up for Yahoo many years ago I think I lied about my age and now I can't remember what I put so I'm stuck.
I have tried just about every which way, all the passwords I have ever used and none of them work. It's very annoying, I could scream.
I have sent a message to Flickr in the hope they can somehow re-set it for me or something. If not then I don't know what I'll do..
If anyone has any other ideas I'd be most grateful..
I know in future I will be making a little notebook of passwords, but then I bet I'll lose that as well...

If the browser remembers your password, it might be stored in the password manager? In Firefox you go to Tools - Options - click on Security - in the middle there is info about passwords, and you click the button to Show Passwords. It pops up a box, and you have to click Show Passwords again and confirm, but then you'll have a whole list of your saved passwords. Of course, you've probably tried all this already?
I just have to say - that's what you get for lying about your age! :P
If it is the same as your Yahoo password can you not try to log into your Yahoo account to retrieve the password?
I tend to use the same password for everything ... until it doesn't fit (not enough letters or needs more numbers, etc.). Grrr!
I have a secret book, kept under lock and key (!), with all of my passwords.
I have 2 passwords that I usually use for all the sites I'm registered with. How could you forget? Surely you must log into Yahoo, like ... every day!
I use the same 2 passwords for everything, so if one dont work it will deffinatly be the other.
If I had any more than that, Id never ever remember them and there is no point me writting it down as Id only lose it.
I had an awful time with a similar situation. When Yahoo bought MyBlogLog they were supposed to merge the two so you only had to use your Yahoo password, but for some reason, it didn't work for me. I must have did the "forgot your password?" trick a million times - and I always use the same password - to no avail.
I contacted the Yahoo people and after going back and forth for about 2 months, it was finally resolved.
I wish I could give you better news! Hopefully you'll have a speedier response than I did.
I used passwordsafe.com. You can store all of your passwords on there. You just have to remember the password to log in, lol. (A little ironic, huh?)
Thank you everyone for you advice and ideas.
Anna - I had looked in the FF password manager and it was the wrong one, that's a bit weird.
Eventually late last night I got the right one! I am so so sure I had tried it several times during the evening but suddenly it just accepted it.. going to devise a way of storing them now :)
Maybe you typed it in a bit wrong when you were feeling frustrated. Made me laugh to read about you lying about your age when you signed up on Yahoo. Glad you were able to get logged in again. I try to keep all my password emails in a folder on my Gmail account. I forget passwords and logins all the time.
forgetting passwords happens to me often, so i kept a little notebook where i can write it down in case i forget.
off topic: i have a tag for you here:

take care and see yah :)
Hey, don't feel bad, Your not the only one.
I did something similar. I have two mybloglogs. The main one that I want to keep, will not accept my blog url. It says that it's at another mybloglog site. MY other one! Well, I can't seem to get into that, and change it. So I'm stuck. I am giving it some time, and will try another day. What else can you do?
Come to think of it, I might have it written down somewhere. Hmm, now, what did I do with that notebook?
