Prescriptions And Anonymous Lunatics
Well, I do have a cold, but being a woman I intend to plod on.. hehehe
I went to work and hope to also go tomorrow. If I don't, I'm sure some would think I was bunking as it's my last working day! Have to see what the morning brings..
I'm lucky, I have Christmas Eve off work. We are still open but the place will run the bare minimum of staff. That's my biggest excitement of Christmas, having days off!!
This last week has been so manically busy, everyone seems to think, "Oww the Dr's will be closed for 2 days next week, lets go make a visit!" or they have suddenly realised they wont have quite enough medication and request an urgent prescription! I swear I have done 100's almost everyday this past week. Anyone would think we are closing for 2 months not 2 days!
This evening whilst reading comments here on this blog I was rather shocked by a VERY VERY long nonsensical ranting of what I can only describe as lunacy.. needless to say it was an anonymous commenter and I have deleted it.
So for the foreseeable I have disabled anonymous comments. I've not yet turned on word verification or moderation - will see if any more such nonsense appears.

Oh no - you've suffered the curse of the anonymous nitwit, too. I really don't know what these crazies get from it. Before I enabled comment moderation, someone flooded Pot-Pourri one night, with dozens of messages accusing me of being an anti-Semitic homophobe. I was also accused of being evil and Satanic, with homicidal tendencies. I didn't know whether to laugh or scream. My cousin, who is my best friend, and more like a brother to me, is a gay man, so that precludes any homophobia on my part, I have Jewish friends, I'm an atheist, which means I don't believe in God or his antithesis, Satan, and I've never murdered anyone. Yet this person must have spent hours ranting on about how cruel a person I was, and how I had doomed him and his Irish boyfriend with spells and curses. And people wonder why I use comment moderation and CAPTCHA, LOL! I hope your nutcase was a one-off.
Sorry about that. The doctor was closed and I couldn't get my meds. :)
I get them sometime too. Most of the time they are from spambots not a real visitor. Or when I check my logs, they searched on a word and just left the same comment for every search result that came up. You'd think they find a better way to spend their time.
Me too about the days off...best part of the year :)
Weird about the lunatic comment. I screen my comments because I'm worried about some of the things I write setting people off and calling me a man-hater or something.
I hope you don't get an online stalker or anything. Let us know if it happens again.

It is the time of the year for lunatics. I had one earlier from someone who knew me better than I knew myself it seemed hahahaha NOT. Not heard from him since thank the lord.
I know what you mean about all this Christmas madness as you will read on my diary. Shopping today was a nightmare. Anyone would think the world is coming to an end, so we must all bulk buy arghhhhhh.

Glad to find another active local blogger, and like you I also spend hours online and as you know taking photos, and going out on my bike as it happens.
Oddly the majority of my trolls were people I knew online and the latest one created a youtube account, spent two days slagging me off and then disappeared. Any idiot can hide behind a screen and throw stones but they'd pee themselves before saying it to anyone in person. Just gives the poor sods the opportunity to feel big.
I disable anonymous comments after some one left me a nasty anonymous comment.
Hurray for days off!
So far I've gotten away without any crazy people leaving comments. It always makes me wonder what's in it for them. Just causing problems, I guess. Sorry it happened here.
Touch wood, I've never had any problem with comments, apart from an occasional individual spammer, which I just delete. That's probably inviting a deluge, but I'll wait and see.
